How to read it

Bars below the line are Ethereum longs that were closed because the price fell to their liquidation level. Bars above the line are shorts closed because the price rose. A cluster of bars on one side is the footprint of a liquidation cascade: forced orders moving the price into the next layer of liquidation levels.

Liquidations hit hardest when leverage is crowded on one side. Check funding and open interest on Today: high funding with rising open interest means many traders are paying to stay long, and a drop can force them out quickly.

The totals are a floor. They cover USDT-margined perpetuals on Binance and Bybit only, and Binance reports at most one liquidation per coin each second.
