TL;DR - No ads, no profiling. We use Google Analytics for anonymous usage statistics, but only if you give consent via the cookie banner. If you sign up for our newsletter, your email is stored by MailerLite — you can unsubscribe anytime. Data is never sold.
Overview
SwapHunt is a project operated by NFI ApS, focused on tools, APIs, and written material used in real workflows. This website is primarily informational and documentation-oriented.
Respect for privacy and minimal data collection are core principles.
Data Collection on swaphunt.dev
This site does not use advertising, behavioral tracking, retargeting, or profiling of any kind.
If you give consent via the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics (Google LLC) to collect anonymous usage statistics such as page views, session duration, and general geographic region. IP addresses are anonymized (anonymize_ip: true).
Google Analytics is only loaded after you actively consent. If you reject or do not interact with the cookie banner, no analytics data is collected.
You can change your cookie preferences at any time using the "Cookies" link in the footer.
Email and Newsletter
If you sign up to receive free resources or newsletters from SwapHunt, we collect your email address.
Your email is used to:
- deliver requested free resources (e.g. PDF downloads)
- send occasional newsletters and updates (only if you opted in)
Email addresses are stored and processed by MailerLite (MailerLite Limited, registered in Ireland), which acts as a data processor on our behalf. MailerLite maintains its own privacy policy and provides a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) compliant with GDPR.
We use double opt-in to confirm your subscription. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time.
Your email address is retained only as long as your subscription is active. Upon unsubscribing, your data is removed from our mailing list.
We do not sell, share, or use email addresses for any purpose other than those described above.
Server Logs
Like most websites, basic server logs may be collected automatically.
These logs can include:
- IP address
- request time
- requested URL
- user agent
This data is used strictly for security, abuse prevention, and debugging. Server logs are not used to track individuals and are not sold or shared.
Cookies
This website uses the following types of cookies:
Essential cookies — required for basic site functionality, security, and session handling. These cannot be disabled.
Analytics cookies (optional) — set by Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage data. These are only activated if you give consent via the cookie banner.
The following consent-related cookies are stored locally:
cookie-consent— records your consent choice (all, necessary, or custom)analytics-consent— records whether you accepted analytics cookies
These consent cookies are retained for 365 days. You can change your preferences at any time via the "Cookies" link in the footer, or by clearing your browser cookies.
API Usage
If you access the SwapHunt API:
- API requests are logged for operational and security reasons
- logs may include IP address, timestamp, and request metadata
- logs are used to enforce rate limits, prevent abuse, and ensure service stability
API logs are not used for marketing or profiling.
Infrastructure and Third-Party Services
SwapHunt uses Cloudflare for DNS services and DDoS protection, Google Analytics for anonymous usage statistics (consent-based), and MailerLite for email delivery and subscriber management.
This means that network-level data (such as IP addresses and request metadata) may be processed by Cloudflare to protect the site and API from abuse and improve reliability.
Cloudflare acts as a data processor and does not use this data for advertising purposes.
Some tools or API endpoints may rely on additional third-party infrastructure for processing tasks. These services are used solely to deliver functionality. No third-party service is permitted to use data for its own purposes.
Data Retention
Operational data is retained only as long as necessary for security, billing and usage accounting, and system stability.
Retention periods are kept minimal and data is regularly reviewed.
Your Rights (EU / GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union, you have the right to:
- request access to any personal data held about you
- request correction or deletion of such data
- object to or restrict processing where applicable
Requests can be made by contacting the site owner.
