The last 24 hours kept price and sentiment on separate tracks.
BTC trades 1.6% above its 20-period EMA in what the regime model still calls bullish, up modestly to $64.6K. The Fear and Greed Index, meanwhile, sits at 29 - barely off yesterday's 28, and still well below where sentiment usually sits when price is holding a positive slope like this. That gap is the story of the day, not the 0.6% move in BTC.
US spot Bitcoin ETFs extended their inflow streak to a second week, adding $75.7 million net. On paper that reads as demand returning. In practice, analysts flagged what the number itself already suggests - this is not enough capital to fuel a sustained move, just enough to keep the streak alive. Compare that to a market cap that grew 45% in trading volume over the same period, and the ETF flow looks less like conviction and more like a placeholder.
Elsewhere, structure was tested more directly. A flash loan exploit drained $1.65 million from the cross-chain bridge Allbridge, with an attacker using borrowed capital from Kamino to distort pool pricing before withdrawing at favorable rates and bridging out. Small in dollar terms, but it lands the same week Hacken flagged that institutions are shifting due diligence away from static audits toward continuous monitoring and signer controls - because operational failures, not code bugs alone, account for most losses now. The exploit is a live example of exactly the failure mode that shift is meant to catch.
The Structural Read
What connects a stalled Fear and Greed reading, an ETF inflow too small to matter, and a bridge exploit tied to operational controls is the same underlying signal: capital is present but unwilling to commit fully. The ETF flow shows up but doesn't compound. Sentiment tracks price but refuses to follow it into confidence. And infrastructure risk is being priced not through absence of exploits, but through how quickly the market has started building monitoring around the fact that they still happen.
None of these three threads describes a market moving with conviction. They describe one still building trust back, transaction by transaction, cautiously.
Price found room to climb. Confidence didn't follow at the same pace.
